Karin Ohlenschläger

(Hannover, Germany, 1959)

Graduated in Art History from the University of Kassel, critic and exhibition curator specialized in contemporary art and new technologies, she has extensive experience in the field of arts and creative industries. He conceived and directed the International Video Forum program at the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art, MEAC (1986-1988) and coordinated the video and performance activities of Espacio P (1985-1990) in Madrid dedicated to emerging artistic practices in Madrid. He has been a founding member of the Art, Science, Technology and Society Banquet Foundation. From 2002 to 2006 she was co-director of the MediaLab Madrid program at the Conde Duque Cultural Center in Madrid. She has been president of the Institute of Contemporary Art (2011-2012). He has directed various interdisciplinary projects, the most recent being the LABmeeting, the first Labs meeting, at the Medialab-Prado in Madrid, in 2015, and has curated more than thirty national and international exhibitions. among them Media Mutaciones, Tabacalera Madrid (2015); Art and artificial life 1999/2012, Fundación Telefónica, Madrid (2012); Ecomedia ecological strategies in today's art, Edith Russ Site for Media Art, Oldenburg/Germany, Plug.in Basel/Switzerland (2007/08) and Sala Parpalló, Valencia (2009); Digital Transits, CCCD, Madrid (2006), as well as the trilogy banquet nodes and networks, LABoral, Gijón (2008) and ZKM, Karlsruhe (2009), banquet communication in evolution CCCD (2005) and Gran Canaria Espacio Digital (2005), and metabolism and communication banquet, Palau de la Virreina of Barcelona, ZKM, Karlsruhe and the CCCD, Madrid (2003/04). He has also directed international festivals such as Cibervisión international festival of art, science and technology at the Conde Duque Cultural Center, CCCD (2002) and at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid (1999) or the International Festival of Infoarchitecture, Ministry of Public Works, Madrid (1997). FROM 2016 to 2021 she has been artistic director of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial from 2016-2021.
