(Barcelona, 1968)
Digital artist, he investigates the qualities of “new media” by distorting them to reflect on various social problems. It delves into the code of the software that produces images, from simple video games to flight simulators, transforms their functionalities and turns the banal use of the most popular technology into a visionary experience. In the 90s he began his collaboration with the UFO research project that reflects on contemporary culture and society, using different strategies derived from the use of the videographic medium. He has worked on the MAP series (Mega Assemble Project) and the Oigo Project Room project. Subsequently, and after addressing the archive as a subject of artistic work, the Retroyou (RC) and Retroyou (NostalG) project begins. R /C is an experimental project based on the deconstruction of software. Leandre manipulated the code and structure of the racing video game Re-Volt and reduced the game to three phases: generating a variable center of gravity, removing the environment, and transforming the moving elements. The deconstruction process ends with the initial goal of the game (the race) canceled and the program running on its own, without the need for player interaction. His projects have been shown at Ars Electronica, Linz; The Circle of Fine Arts, Madrid; MEIAC, Badajoz (2006); Bow; MediaLabMadrid-Conde Duque Cultural Center (2005); Sónar, Transmediale, Berlin, or La Chafferie, Strasbourg (2002).
Participates in Medialab Madrid within the framework of the Banquete_08 exhibitions nodes and networks with the installation nostalG2 \ L'AGE D'OR NFO.EXE (2003/08).
