Artist, theorist and exhibition curator. Her artistic practice is strongly research-oriented and involves extensive field work in remote places on the planet, where she investigates phenomena linked to climate change and the ecologies of resources such as oil and water. His video essays connect the micropolitical dimension with economic and environmental dynamics at a global level. Ursula Biemann's video-essays take as their central theme the place of women in the world capitalist economy. In his commitment to various forms of spatial politics, Biemann executes them paying special attention to labor relations, migration and the impact of advanced technology where he investigates this spatial relocation as a strategy of consumer capitalism to perpetuate its economic system, revealing a performative movement based on spatial deterritorialization and reterritorialization. Biemann's work has been exhibited in institutions such as the Tapies Foundation in Barcelona, the Arnolfini Museum in Bristol (United Kingdom), the San Francisco Art Institute (USA), among many others. In addition, the artist has participated in the biennials of Sao Paulo, Gwangju, Shanghai, Bamako, Istanbul, Montreal and Venice. He has participated in Medialab Madrid within the framework of the banquet_03 metabolism and communication exhibitions, with the work Global Food.
