
Doctor in Communication and Semiotics, member of the Grup de Treball "Etnografia dels Espais Públics" (ICA) and researcher at the National Council of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPQ, Brazil) on urban spaces, social networks and media environments. He has been a resident artist at CYPRES – Center Interculturel de Pratiques Recherches et Echanges Transdisciplinaires in 2004 and MedialabMadrid in 2005, and his projects have been awarded at FILE (2004) or Prog:me (2005). Influenza's artwork has been exhibited, among others, at ACM Multimedia (Singapore); FILE (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro); Tohu Bohu Gallery (Marseille), Comafosca, Nuevas Geografias (Mexico); Accea (Armenia); Break 2.3 (Ljubljana); Viper (Basel); VII Digital Art Salon in Havana and at ARS Electronica (Linz).
He has participated in Medialab Madrid with the interactive installation Madrid Mousaic (2005), the project works at an abstract level on the configuration of the city from a raw mass with which an aesthetic and semantic set is projected, mixing "real" sounds and images to create new combinations that generate a result between the symbolic and the abstract.
