Sound artist, composer and live electroacoustic instrumentalist. He is also an Industrial Engineer and a Doctor in Information Sciences. At the end of the 70s, he began creating with electroacoustic means at the ALEA Laboratory in Madrid and later at the University of Pau (France). The fundamental axes of his creative work are the interaction of conventional instruments with recorded sounds and/or live electronics, and his personal use of the stage and radio language. In 1989 he began his collaboration with the artist Concha Jerez in sound and visual spaces, performances, radio works and intermedia concerts. From 1985 to 2008 he directed the Ars Sonora space on Radio Clásica of Radio Nacional de España (RNE), focused on sound art. His creative and production work has been complemented with numerous articles, conferences, courses and workshops. Among them, the Workshops on Radio Art that he directed in Barcelona (La Caixa, CIEJ, 1990), Cuenca (Fac. de BB.AA., 1995), Institute of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts (Madrid) and the Center of Reina Sofía Art. He has been organizer of concert series for institutions such as the Sala Amárica in Vitoria (2000), the MNCARS in Madrid (2002) or the Vostell Malpartida Museum (1999-2006). In January 2011 he created “Radioartnet”, a website that is a permanent archive and social network of international radio art. In October 2012 he coordinated RESONANTES, the I Ibero-American Meeting of Sound Art in Radio, at the National Sound Library of Mexico, within the framework of the 9th International Radio Biennial. In 2013 he carried out the IberWave project, a series of five broadcasts for Kunstradio (ORF). on current Ibero-American radio art.
He participates in Medialab Madrid with the piece Terre di nessuno, a complex interactive InterMedia installation where audiovisual and computer resources are used, as well as small radio interference. He also presents Persona, an installation where he explores the notion of identity based on architectural space, intervened with audiovisual elements.
