Doctor in telecommunications engineering, maître èn aéronautiques sciences and graduate in computer science, he has been a professor in the Department of Telematics Systems Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineers since 1967 and a professor since 1974. Ex-Chairman of the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society, 1984-2002. Former President of the Spanish Association of Computer Science and Automation. Among the various awards received, the following stand out: the 2006 National Computer Science Award, the Fundesco Award (1996), for his extensive research career in the field of information sociotechnology, and the Fundesco Essay Award (1989). He was editorial advisor for TELOS magazine. His books include Fundamentals of Computing, (Alianza: 1987); Personal computers: Towards a world of computing machines, Fundesco, 1987; Complex office automation, Fundesco Essay Prize 1989. His research is framed within the sociotechnology of information, an approach focused on the human factor that integrates the discourse and practice of technique, elements of psychology, sociology, education, economics, philosophy, systems theory, etc.
Participates in Medialab Madrid within the framework of the ACTS symposium with the texts titled "Infotechnology: new social forms, noometamorphosis and digital noomorphosis" and "On the power and fragility of some technical pulars of the information society."
