(Madrid, 1964)
A multidisciplinary artist, he trained in photography at the International Center of Photography at New York University, but soon became interested in the possibilities of the projected image and installation art. With his works he challenges the viewer to make a deep reflection on the impact of technology on everyday experience, from information to obsolescence. The final interest of his proposals is the immersion of the spectators in his works. To this end, it has created permanent public art installations with LED screens, developed by Canogar with complex shapes to break their limits and conceptualize them as sculptures. Some of these installations are: Aqueous at The Sobrato Organization (Mountain View, CA, 2019). Pulse , at the Zachry Engineering Education Complex at Texas A&M University (College Station, TX, 2018), Tendril for Tampa International Airport (Tampa, FL, 2017) and Cannula , Xylem and G ust II at the BBVA Bank Headquarters (Madrid, 2018). He has also created monumental public artworks in different media such as Bifurcation, a multi-laser projection for the Noor Riyadh Light & Art Festival (Riyadh, 2021); Amalgama El Prado generative video projection projected on the facade of the Museo Nacional del Prado and created with the Museum's painting collection (Madrid, 2019).
He has participated in Medialab Madrid with the work Tangle, an installation that projects disturbing images, a metaphor to reflect on the networks of the information society. In addition, he presented Other Technologies 9, a mural photo of a tangle of electronic elements that trap a naked body, a metaphor for the communication society and its most notable heir, the network society.
