9 installations by Canadian artists
Date: from January 27 to April 2, 2006
Curated by Nina Czegledy and Louise Provencher
Resonances. Electromagnetic Bodies brought to Madrid a varied exhibition of Canadian contemporary art where the invisible but real nature of material forces was explored,
as well as the impact of these vibratory energies on the human body and our environment. Of primary importance is the energy of neurological activity, the trace of which neuroscientists and psychoanalysts follow, marking the pulsation of our thoughts and desires, arising under the skin, beneath consciousness. These ideas are palpable in the work of Paulette Phillips, Richard Shrorud, Norman White,
David Toma, Jocelyn Roberts Marie-Jeanne Muslol, Jean Pierre Aube and the rest of the artists invited to the exhibition. Likewise, the curated works took as a
starting point - and tribute - the figure of Nicolás Tesla, pioneering father of the study of electromagnetism.
