Artist, teacher and researcher. Doctor from the UPV/EHU (2008). Co-director of the AKMEKA research group, group A of the Basque University System. Professor of the Department of Sculpture and Art and Technology of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV/EHU where he began his teaching work in 1999. Vice Dean of University Extension (2009-2017) and Director of Cultural Action of the UPV/EHU (2017-2020). Currently coordinator of the PhD program for Research in Contemporary Art and is a member of the academic committee of the Master in Contemporary, Technological and Performative Art.
As an artist, member of the collectives SEAC, Euskadi Selection of Concept Art (1994-1998) and Fundación Rodríguez (1994-2012), participating in artistic projects related to performance, new audiovisual and technological media and collaborative art. He has also been linked to independent cultural associations and initiatives. He was a member of the Amarika Assembly, a citizen group that developed the cultural co-management project Proyecto Amarika (2008-2011) with the Provincial Council of Araba.
He participated in Medialab Madrid banquete08 with the blog “Networks: forms of symbolic and social construction” (June 5, 2008) together with Santiago Eraso, Arturo (Fito) Rodríguez and Jorge Luis Marzo. Also with “Art on network(s)” (July 7, 2008), “Network tools, 1” (August 6, 2008), “Museum as a hub (network tools, 2) (September 8 2008)” and “Reset the system. The museum as a repository” (October 6, 2008).
