
Architecture studio founded by José Morales and Juán González Marsical in 1987. In 1998 Sara de Giles Dubois joined the studio as a new partner. In 2004 the firm was consolidated under the name of Morales de Giles Arquitectos SL. The teaching of the team members has developed a strong interest in typological and formal research, and in a constant exploration of new scenarios of current architecture.
The work of Morales de Giles Arquitectos has developed mainly from important awards in conceptual competitions, both public and restricted. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2000, 2002 and 2006; in the exhibition ON-SITE: New Architecture in Spain at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA); and at the Spanish Architecture Biennial in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2007 and 2009. In addition, they won the I FAD Research and Magazine Award in the first call in 2006.
Likewise, they have given workshops at the following universities: Venice Architecture Institute, TU Berlin, University of Texas, School of Architecture in Montevideo, London Metropolitan School of the Catholic University of Santiago de Chile, University of Navarra, Catalunya International University, Bochum. University of Applied Sciences and at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
She participated in MediaLab Madrid banquete08 with HACKITECTURA.NET together with Esther Pizarro (Wikiplaza/Plaza de las Libertades Sevilla, 2006).
