María José Martínez de Pisón

(?, 1959)

Artist, teacher and researcher. Professor of the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Graduated in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (1984). Doctor in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (1987). Course at Berklee College of Music, Boston University (2015).

Component of the Light Laboratory (Faculty of Fine Arts of Valencia), a space for meeting, studying and researching aesthetic and expressive principles linked to the light-image. Currently, the components of the laboratory belong to different departments and their participation varies depending on the proposals that are being developed: working between the collective and the individual, between university research and artistic activity, between the production of projects and the dissemination of texts, as an area open to those people who want to develop their work under this interdisciplinary structure.

He participated in MediaLab Madrid with the conference “Presentation of the Light Laboratory” (April 21, 2005). A journey through the 15 years of this space for meeting, studying and researching aesthetic and expressive principles linked to the image-light.
