Laura Baigorri

(Barcelona, 1960)

Curator, researcher and professor. Doctor in Fine Arts 1996 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. Full Professor specializing in New Media Art, Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona since 1993. Director of the Department of Design and Image since 2012.

Member of the IMARTE Research Group. Research in artistic processes and new technologies, SGR 1625 (2014-2016) and the R&D&I Research Project Metamethod II: Art and research in new forms of artistic practice and shared methodologies in the knowledge society (HARD2012- 39378-CO3-01) University of Barcelona (2012-2015).

She has worked as a curator or participated in: Homo Ludens Ludens (2008) Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial de Gijón and Videoarde; Critical video in Latin America and the Caribbean (2009-2015); AECID and Cervantes Institute; Monograph Carte blanche to commissioners and Metrópolis RTVE (2012).

Participated in MediaLab Madrid banquet 03 with the seminar “banquete_03. Social networks and communication networks” (October 22 to 24). Within the framework of banquet_metabolism and communication, a series of seminars took place around the analogy between social and communication networks.
