Doctor in medicine. Graduated from Shinshu University. Professor at Shinshu University since 2007. Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne (2001-2002), Shinshu University (1999-2007), Visiting Professor at University College of London (1996-1997), Associate Professor at Yamanashi Women's College (1994-1999) and professor at Yamanashi Women's College (1991-1994). Member of the Society for Freshwater Science, the American Mosquito Control Association, and the International Association of Theoretical and Applied Limnology
