Graduated in Geology from Mount Holyoke College under the supervision of Lynn Margulis (University of Massachusetts-Amherst) and Mark MAS McMenamin (Mount Holyoke College). Master in Earth and Environmental Sciences (2003), from Columbia University. PhD candidate in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Columbia University. His academic work is related to the evolution of the biosphere and ecology, especially in the analysis of extinctions, life, physical sciences, natural history, and the global and local effects of symbiosis. Member of organizations including: Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma XI, International Symbiosis Society, Geological Society of America, American Geophysical Union, European Geophysical Union, American Association of Petroleum Geology, The Paleontological Society and the New York Academy of Sciences.
