Javier Candeira

(León, 1966)

Cultural researcher, journalist and professor. He is co-founder and editor of Barrapunto, a website about open source and civil rights in the digital sphere. He is a professor of the subject “Introduction to free open source software” in the Master of the same title at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

Active participant in the project to transfer Creative Commons licenses to Spanish legislation and one of the organizers of Dorkbots in Madrid and Melbourne, an international network of art and technology meetings for "people who do strange things with electricity."
