Plastic artist, graduated from the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving “La Esmeralda”, Mexico City and from the Kyoto University of Art and Design. Postgraduate at the University of Barcelona and in 2004 a Master of Theory and Practice of Contemporary Plastic Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, UCM Madrid. In his work he uses everyday objects that he manipulates to generate new meanings and uses. Drawing on Duchamp's artistic line and the appropriation of the manufactured object, he breaks down furniture to anthropomorphize it and questions the limits between design and art as an everyday object. In his series he confronts the processes of industrial and artisanal production in a playful and reflective way. His work has been exhibited in Matadero (Madrid, 2011), La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2009), Praxis International Art (New York 2011) and he has participated in exhibitions in exhibition spaces in Germany (Kreativquartier, Munich, 2014), Mexico, (Museo del Chopo México DF, 2011), Hong Kong (Para/Site Art Space, 2009), United States (Praxis Gallery, NY, 2008) or Japan (Prinz Gallery, Kyoto, 2001) and received awards and distinctions First Generation Prize 2008, Obra Social, Caja Madrid, Spain; the prize at the I Azcapotzalco Biennial and the Foreign Studies Prize (Kyoto) awarded by CENART in 2000; In addition to the Scholarship awarded by the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, he has recently completed a residency at the Pistoletto Foundation, Biella, Italy.
He was part of the Medialab Madrid team, working as a production assistant.
