Multidisciplinary collective formed by Xoan Gil-López, Chiu Longina and Horacio González that was active from 2006 and 2016. Escoitar was a project dedicated to the study of soundscape and aurality, a term that refers to a common culture based on listening. The objective was to highlight the sounds of the environment and claim listening as a key process in the construction of cultural discourses. The collective offered a web tool escoitar.org that allowed users to upload recorded sounds and geolocate them. Among the works carried out, it is worth highlighting the installations Air, sound and power (ZKM, Karlsruhe), El Angel (ARTe SONoro. La Casa Encendida, Madrid), Continent Rouge (Mai Numérique, Carcassone), in collaboration with Gigacircus, or White Walk ( Gateways. KUMU art museum, Tallinn). They participate in Medialab Madrid with the interactive installation and workshop Air, Sound, Power, 2008 within the framework of Banquete_08, and also present the seminar workshop "The charitable poor man."
