Christa Sommerer (Gmunden, Austria, 1964) and Laurent Mignonneau (Angouleme, France, 1967). They are pioneers in the research and development of artificial and interactive life systems applied to the world of art, especially in the field of interactive installations. Professors of Interface Culture at the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria, and at the IAMAS (International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences) in Gifu, Japan. They have numerous international awards, including the Golden Nica, Ars Electronica 1994. Their work has been exhibited at the Center George Pompidou, the Museum of Modern Art in Helsinki, the Ars Electronica Center and the Inter Communication Center Gallery in Tokyo, among others. They live and work between Kyoto and Linz.
