Artist. She began as a painter in the forests of British Columbia (Canada). In 1980 she became director of Softimage, a leading international 3D software company. He began writing about virtual reality in 1991 and, in 2005, completed a PhD in Immersive Visual Space from the University of Plymouth, UK.
He has received numerous awards, including an Honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria (Canada) in 2002.
Internationally recognized for being a pioneer in immersive art in the field of virtual reality such as "Osmose" (1994-1995) and "Ephémère" (1998). He has exhibited in installations around the world combining virtual immersion with 3D interaction and sound, such as at the San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art (USA), at the Barbican Art Center (London), at the Australian Center for the Moving Image of Melbourne; in the Monterrey Museum (Mexico); at the Montreal Musée d'Art Contemporain (Canada); at the National Gallery of Canada; and in La Laboral de Gijón.
