Artist and teacher. He is a professor in the Department of Media Arts Design at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has exhibited his work internationally in institutions such as Laboral (Gijón), The Cooper-Hewitt Museum (New York) or the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design (Oslo), in galleries such as Bitforms (New York), BANK (Los Angeles) or [DAM] Berlin, and at festivals such as Sonar (Barcelona), Ars Electronica (Linz) or Microwave (Hong Kong).
He has lectured at institutions such as the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, the NTT ICC in Tokyo, and in artist-run spaces such as Machine Project (Los Angeles) and Atelier Nord (Oslo). Together with Ben Fry, Reas started Processing.org in 2001, an open source programming language and environment for creating images, animation, and interaction.
