He was born in Chile and raised in Colombia. He studied film and television in Bogot\u00e1. Since 1999 he has lived in Paris, working mainly in video and visual arts. In 2004 he completed a doctorate in arts (University of Paris I) and has held a research and teaching position since 2011 (University of Paris VIII). <\/p>\n<p>His works have participated in several international exhibitions and festivals. Public space has been a central theme of his research and artistic practice. In 2009 he created &#039;GardeTemps&#039;, a temporary light and video sculpture for the City of Vancouver&#039;s Olympic Public Art Program. His monumental installation Elsewhere has been on display at Malm\u00f6 Central Station &#039;Citytunneln&#039; since late 2010. Between 2012 and 2016 he worked mainly on generative video pieces and installations.
