His work has focused on issues of globalization, in particular political global communication. He teaches at the Faculty of Art at the University of Melbourne. One of his first publications was \u201cNews in the Global Sphere.\u201d A study of CNN and its impact on Global Communication (1999). She has been a professor at the University of Otago and at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (2003), at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2001) and Associate at the Shorenstein Center, Kennedy School, Harvard (2002).
