He was one of the most important avant-garde writers of the 20th century. Controversial and transgressive, his extensive work includes novels, poetry collections and dramatic pieces, but also texts of cultural intervention, such as avant-garde manifestos or newspaper articles. The Anthropophagous Manifesto was a vehicle for the dissemination of the Brazilian anthropophagic movement. In its metaphorical language full of poetic aphorisms full of humour, the Manifesto became the theoretical axis of this movement that wanted to rethink the issue of cultural dependence in Brazil. Influenced by Marx, Freud, writers of the surrealist movement, such as André Breton, the Manifeste Cannibale written by Francis Picabia, the issues surrounding the wild discussed by the philosophers Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Michel de Montaigne and the idea of technical barbarism by Hermann Keyserling. The Manifesto highlights the violent contradiction between two cultures: the primitive one (Amerindian and African) and the Latin one (of European cultural heritage), which form the basis of Brazilian culture, by transforming the wild element into an aggressive instrument. It was one of the texts that was the subject of reflection in the exhibition banquet_metabolism and communication.

[15
post-12634","persona_type","type-persona_type","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","persona_cat-colaborador-a
["GET
